UPDATE (1st March): The Auto One Targa Albany Sprint is still going ahead, however the Level 2 COVID restrictions announced yesterday may limit the number of spectators allowed access to the Middleton Beach Spectator and Service Park area.  We are seeking further clarification on restrictions given the unique nature of our event.  Face masks must be worn.

The Auto One Targa Albany Sprint enables competitors to attack a challenging ~3km road course from Hybla up the hillside set against some of The Great Southerns most stunning backdrops, while the Auto One Targa Quaranup Sprint sees cars compete over a 2.5km course up to the historic Camp Quaranup.

Now in out 4th year, the Auto One Targa Albany Sprints have now become the ‘must do’ event for Competitors & Spectators wanting an action packed weekend of Motorsport on the Amazing South Coast.

Entry is strictly limited to 100 discerning competitors.

Spectating is FREE!!

With ample parking, access to the pit area and a number of different locations to view the action from, the fact that Spectators have FREE entry to the Auto One Targa Albany Sprint is a bonus.

Watching all the action at the Auto One Targa Albany Sprint is absolutely FREE, although spectator numbers will be limited in keeping with the Level 2 COVID restrictions.

The pit area is open for spectators to mingle with the competitors and get up close and personal with the cars and crews.

Competitors

The Auto One Targa Albany Sprint now comprises of 3 events held on the March long weekend in Albany.  On the Sunday the Quaranup Rallysprint and Quaranup Speed Event utilise sections of Quaranup Road while on Monday the Albany Sprint climbs from Middleton Beach to the National Anzac Centre.

Similar to a Rallysprint, the Speed Event elements are for Drivers only (ie no Co-Driver) and all run under the auspices of Motorsport Australia (formerly CAMS) the Targa Albany Sprint is suitable for a wide variety of cars. Competitors compete against the clock over the closed road course.

Note: Cars will need to either already be registered or they will need to be receive an Over 48 Hour “Rally” Permit from the Department of Transport.

The event is open to Drivers who hold a minimum of a Motorsport Australia Speed licence (Rally Licence for the Quranup Rallysprint) and are current members of a Motorsport Australia affiliated Car Club. All cars must meet minimum safety standards, and will be required to undertake pre-event scrutiny. A roll cage and Frontal Head Restraints are mandatory for the Rallysprint and are very strongly recommended for the Speed Event and Hill Climb.
